Need advice from the BL/ TL veterans PLS

Hi All,
I need help making a realistic decision for scheduling my 2nd surgery. I am having a LBL/Brachio on March 30th. I want to schedule the 2nd part of my surgery BL/TL for June 1st. My 25th wedding anniversary in June 22nd and I wanted all of my surgeries to be done by then ( I want to fully be the new Mii for the next 25+ yrs !). My concern is what state will I be in 3 weeks post-op from  a BL/TL? We are renewing our vows and our sons are throwing us a small anniversary party after. Will I still be too much of a mess to enjoy it? I know everyone heals differently, but generally speaking what can I expect? Is this even feasible?

Thank you in advance for your treasured advice!

God Bless,

Sandi

I had my LBL/brachio on July 15th then went in on Oct 23rd for my BL/BA & MTL. I was back in action at work at 10 days post-op. Felt a little tender but then back out living normally at 3 weeks. At 3 weeks out I was going out w/ friends and hanging out at the club and even doing the deed w/o problems. So yes it's feasible barring any complications.

I think it really depends on you and how you heal.  It also depends on if it's a full extended thigh lift or a small one.  I know the thighs are the most painful of all plastics and they also have the highest complication rate.  I haven't gotten mine done yet because I want to have enough time off of work so that I don't risk having problems.  I know of several who have had the extended thigh lift and they were out for 6 weeks.   In my opinion 3 weeks may not be feasible.  But I'm just basing that on others I've known personally who've had the extended thigh lift.  Breasts aren't that bad from what I've told, I'm getting a BL/BA with my face/neck lift this fall.  When I had my Extended TT and Brachio I was out for 8 weeks, but I had that much time and wanted to be totally healed.  I couldn't lift more than 10 lbs for 6 weeks and I'm a nurse who works 12 hour shifts that are pretty busy.

Hi Iam,
I'm having a full thigh lift. I have heard that it is the most painful and also highest rate of complications. Which is a little scary . However, I usually heal pretty well which is a plus. I'm not working right now, and I don't plan to even start looking for a job until I'm 100% recovered from both surgeries. So I would be able to rest as much as possible. I can really baby myself up until my anniversary and after. My sons are adults and will be doing all of the prep for the party and my husband will be handling the details of the vow renewal ceremony. So I won't really have to do too much, except find a beautiful dress to wear (which I'm SO excited to do!). It will be a short ceremony so I won't have to stand too long and the party will be mostly family and close freiends so I can change into more comfortable clothes and sit if needed.
I know every person and every surgery is different, and the way a body reacts to each surgery is different so it's hard to gauge what it will be like and what is feasable. It's a difficult decision to make. I'm so thankful for this message board and the people here. It's so helpful to get to discuss these things with others who understand. Thank you for your advice!

God bless,

Sandi

When you say TL I assume that is a Thigh Lift?

Based on my experiences I think 2 months is too short a recovery time to go back and have your thighs done.

Having your arms and tummy done at the same time is hard...you can't use your stomach muscles so you need your arms...since you can't use your arms it will be hard for you to get up and down.  The swelling from your LBL will probably still be there at the 2 month mark and then you are going to have your thighs done.  You are doing a lot which disrupts the blood flow in the groin area and could slow down your healing/recovery.

I am 3.5 months out from my LBL and I'm having my thighs done at the end of next week (it will be almost 4 months and some days lately I think I'd be better off waiting another couple of weeks (but I'm still going in).

Anyhow that's just my 2 cents you gotta do what you are comfortable doing.
Best wishes on your decision and your upcoming surgeries.

Thank you for your reply. I have thought about the difficulty of having tummy and arms at same time. I'm very blessed however with a very strong husband and very strong adult sons who will be taking care of me around the clock and will be able to help me up and down. My husband is wonderful and is able to take time off and then work from home as long as I need him too. I have a lot of support which is going to make recovery a lot easier to manage.
I figured I will still have swelling from the LBL when I go for the 2nd phase of my PS. I will of course discuss all of that with my doctor before making any decision. Thank you for your advice. Hearing from people who have had these experiences really helps to make the decisions for yourself. I appreciate it so much!

God bless you and best to you on your upcoming surgery!
