I wore the binder for a couple weeks and switched to spanx and the like thereafter.  I wore them about 12 weeks.

Did you have bad swelling anywhere? I get swelling in my "girly" area, uhhh! Did you switch to anything else, I was thinking spanx. (prior poster)

My surgery was Monday and the doc said 4 weeks with the binder and then I am hoping to switch to compression undergarmet of some sort.  I am glad you asked because I have been wondering too.

Huge hugz,

My dr said I could go ahead and switch to the lighter weight one when i went for my first follow up which was less than a week out. But that I will be wearing some sort of binder for quite some time.

My dr said 6 weeks and as long as I could stand it. He said the longer the better. I have worn some type of shapeware for 7 months but mainly during the day to help with the swelling that still flares.

I'm 2 weeks post-op.  Doc says to wear the binder the first week and then Spanx or Flexees thereafter.  I wear the binder at night, however, because I feel more comfortable sleeping on my side when I do.

This is what I do, too.  I wear a man's wife-beater under my binder so that it doesn't chafe me.
