Kelocote.

It's recommended by both my dermatologist and my plastic surgeon and it works very well.

It is a bit pricey, compared to many other products.  I usually buy it on their website, since Long's Drugstores (where I used to buy it) seem to be no more.

I used Mederma after my breast surgery and am very pleased with how the scars turned out.  I also used the CVS silicone sheets on the incisions and they a so flat and thin.

I tried ScarZone on my arms.....the incisions have taken MUCH longer to fade...not sure if it's because of the product or not.....once I knew for sure I'd be having another revision I pretty much stopped using it (about 6 months post-op).

For prices I always check on-line at Walmart, and Amazon...also Drugstore.com sometimes has good sales....I find I have to just search prices before I buy anything these days.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I bought generic silicone sheets (the 2.5 x 1 inch size) on-line thru ebay.  Dr. S told me to buy the cheapest one's I could find as they are all the same material.  With our long scars, though, I can see the benefit of a longer scar sheet.  I feel like a patchwork quilt.

Hi, I bought Scar-Esthetique creme. It isnt cheap but I have heard it is very good. I plan on using it on my arms when they heal up and I can. It has Arnica Montana in it and Q 1 0 and alot of other
good ingredients.   Good luck in your decision.

I paid $50.00 for a small tube (15 ml) of Dermatix.  I put it on one half of my scar.  When the tube was finished, there was no difference what-so-ever.  I've heard someone on here say that CVS scar sheets were great - we don't have CVS in Canada.

I am using the kelocote on my facial scars.  It dries clear, but a little tacky.  I think it's working great.  It is pricey $25 - 35 per small tube.  I am finishing my second tube at 3 mos out.  I bought mine at makemeheal.com but do a google search to compare prices.

I am using scar FX silicone sheets/strips  and buying through makemeheal.com.  You could also google to compare prices.  You wash these and re-use for up to 3 months.  I wash daily and re-apply after I shower.  I've been using them for 2 months now and they still stick (self adhesive) well.  You can get them in different lengths.    I just measured my scars after I got home and ordered to fit.   I do notice the ones I'v ebeen using on my armpit area tend to collect lint and just the center is sticking/but enough to cover the exposed scar.  I think I paid a total of $350 for about a total of 100 inches in varying lengths.  I figured it out compared to the strips from CVS and decided they were more economical in the long run.

But do a google, you may find better prices.  Lin

I used scar sheets (biodermis) for a few months.  My scars look great -- faint and flat seven months later -- buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut t t t t t

The evidence is not really "in" about whether any of these gel- or silicone-sheeting products work, if you look at various studies.  There are none that say it makes scarring worse, there are some that say it makes scarring better, but there are several that say the positive reports are skewed, and that really there's no difference at all.

I gave it a shot for a few months, thinknig it wouldn't cause any more difficulty than just the expense.  And I'll never really know whether it made a difference, or not.

My PS recommended Mepiform silicone sheets.  I ordered them cheaper through Amazon than directly from the company, although they ship directly from the company.  Weird.  I also use ScarGuard MD.

My PS recommended not wasting my money and to use the Vitamin E that comes in capsules. I use 2 a day, open the capasule and rub it in along the scar lines. I'm not quite 2 months out and it seems to be helping.
