Thanks for the input Lin.
I had not even thought about the drains....how funny that I actually forgot about the whole drain thing...LOL
I'm kind of hoping since my arms are a revision that I may not have to have drains in them...I'll ask the surgeon tomorrow at my pre-op appt.

I remember when I had my arms originally done my hands blew up so big....fingers looked like hot dogs!

Thanks again for the input.
Keep me posted on how you are doing...I hope things just keep getting better and better for you.

He didn't put drains in for my arms or thighs. It was so nice not to have them.

I had MTL and LBL December 30 and the incisions (tightness and pulling on my thighs didn't bother me as much as the LBL incisions.  I was able to use the toilet immediately but I do have a high seated toilet.  I didn't have much pain and stopped taking pain meds after the first week.  After a few weeks when the glue wore off and some of the stitches came to the surface and would irritate me by rubbing together but the doctor and I , with his permission would clip them.  My legs, especially my knees, calves and ankles did swell.  My surgeon doesn't use compression garments but when swelling became unbearable in my calves and ankles after about 10 days post-op, he recommended I purchase compression thigh high stockings.  They were a god-send!  The best $110 I ever spent.  I had immediate relief.  I only had to wear them about a week cause my swelling peaked about the time I bought them.  Now I only have slight swelling in my ankles on and off.  My main problem was an infection that started at one of what my surgeon called an 'anchor' site above my left leg.  The first antibiotic didn't help and the infection traveled along the incision line - oozing at different spots.  Blech!  It has healed now.  It didn't hurt but was very aggravating!  Occasionally, I feel pulling along my thigh incisions and my surgeon says that is normal - probably stitches popping.

I'm going 'under the knife' again April 14.  The same surgeon will be doing my arms and BL.  Good luck!  Deb

Mine was not that bad. I slept in a recliner for three nights or so but because I had my eyes done also. No arms. The toilet was tough at first. I kinda held myself up with my arms the first week. A riser made it harder for me because I am short. Pants were fine for me to wear. I was never in a compression garment. I had ace bandages on each leg from the knee to the crotch. They worked out much better for me than a garment. They gave me one to take home and I tried it but went back to the ace. Wearing them tight made my thighs feel better. I had stinging in the back of my legs but never a lot of pain. Getting up and down was hard the first week. The recliner was hard to close -the foot rest . so I used a cane to shut it when I stood up. I had very little swelling. After about four weeks I started expelling stitches which kept opening up  spots on my legs. It has stopped now and healed.
Only one leg did this. I was able to walk the mall the day my drains came out at around two weeks. By three I could cross my legs. At around four weeks I quit wearing the ace and had no problems except my ankles would swell some. If the thights are the worst my next one will be a breeze. I did not have any lipo but they cut off one and a half pounds of skin
