YES MAAM!!  Sent me packing out the door with my bags!  Happened a year ago.

Read all about it!

It worked for the best because I switched from the UT residency program to Baylor and wouldn't have been able to use Dr L had this not happened!

I did end up using them last June and I made sure everything was paid BEFORE my surgery date.

Thanks a lot Dr. L - You made me laugh so hard I nearly pee'd myself!
Or you can have a magic remote that makes the nipples point two very different directions! LOL!

I love that you are a perfectionist (and it clearly shows in your work!) if I go over - I know it's for very good cause and Im 100% okay with that.

Just dont like that they are SOOOO hard headed about it. Im thinking that maybe they are like that because they had been burned by those who do not pay - which I can certainly understand - just stinks that we gotta deal with it because of others.

Im sooo looking forward to surgery on Tuesday!

No worries.  Call ME if they try and keep you.  Or just start moaning really loudly and scare off their other patients.

Honestly, that policy is old and even Trent, the hospital CEO, does not like it.  They did get burned a lot in the past, and as I said they routinely do NOT charge for little overages.

Get some rest, don't stress, and I'll see you soon !

So I should feign extreme hysteria if they try to keep me?

OMG THEY ARE KIDNAPPING ME AND HOLDING ME FOR RANSOM - MY DAUGHTER IS AT HOME SOBBING CAUSE SHE IS MISSING HER MAMA - THEY WONT LET ME GO HOME AND FEED MY DAUGHTER - THEY WANT ME TO BE HOMELESS -OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!

Hahaha. Hey - it works in the ER (oh, come on - dont act like ou have never told your kid to cry harder and louder so you can get in! *grin*)

I did sleep MUCH better last night - and this morning while playing with my sharpee puppy dog rolls on my belly I was able to grin about it - cause Im kissing those little suckers goodbye VERY soon!

I saw this post and thought "that sounds like HHSS."    I do not like that policy and have already fixed the quote system we use to lower the chance of that happening.  Conversely, if we go under in time a refund is promptly given. Overages less than 30 min are usually ignored, and the charges are almost never over $500.

Rather than hassle my patient in case of overage, I asked HHSS to keep my credit card on file as a guarantee of payment so they can do an invoice instead.  If a patents skips town, I have a remote control button that makes all their stitches dissolve instantly and deflates their breast implants too.

Reasons to go over vary, but doing several areas or working on larger individuals simply entails more work and more time.  I am very efficient because my OR team are also my personal employees that I bring to the hospital, so I do not need to  "watch the clock."  I know we are always proceeding efficiently.

I like to remind my patients that "Rome wasn't built in a day"  that my fixations in surgery are always safety and the best possible results.
LOL About the remote control!

I didn't realize hospitals did that.  Now I wonder if my surgeon paid for the overages.  About two months ago, I had a lift and a reduction.  It went 2 hours over what was expected.  I received a paid in full letter about a week later and didn't notice anything strange.

I had the implants yesterday and it went over by about an hour.  Curious to see if I get a bill?

Good luck to you but they can't hold you hostage! :)

I had a nice talk with the hospital CEO yesterday at 7AM.  He is now instructing the business office to invoice patients and I have offered to back them up on my office credit  account.

So....not only can I deflate breast implants with my remote, I can also inflate them to huge sizes at embarrassing moments.

Leah, is that a wound vac in your photo ?  Hope you're ready to toss it soon.
