shocking discovery

so like most women with a large weight loss(I am at 100 pounds loss) my boobs ahang down to my waist. At my heaviest i never wore a bra because they were uncomfortable. Recently I have been wearing a pull on stretch sports bra but today decided i would like to get a real bra- maybe even something pretty/sexy. Went into a lingerie store and was measured and was told I'm a 38C. pick out a bra and try it for fit. OMG it was a horrible sight. yes it fit BUT while i cud squish my boobs into the cups (and they didn't completely fill the tops- it was the sides hanging over the top of the bra that freaked me out. Is it boob or my underarm or what???? My back was OK no overhang but it was such an awful sight I got dressed and left the store. I obviously can't wear a normal bra. How is this fixed??? I figured I needed a lift and possibly an augmentation- I don't want to be more than a C but from research I think that a lift only will make me smaller AND what do they do with this upper side stuff??? Anyone else who saw/experienced this and has since had boob work i would love to hear what you had done and what the outcome was. Much thanks

Hi Karen.  They can do a lift with self augmentation (I think that's what it's called) - it's where they use your own tissue rather than implants to do the augmenting part.

Hi- yeah I've heard of that but you have to have tissue and this is skin only- anyway i know that the ps will decide what is best.

I feel your mortification. I too have a side boob like thingy ma-jig. And no overhand on the back. It's freakish but Im not sure how it's fixed. Im hoping that with the lipo, and the lift and the pulling fown for the tuck that mine will mostly go down. I can live with it if it stays though - so I am not overly concerned.

SAdly, I don;t think you can go by the standard "measurements" after you have had WLS, it just doesnt work. They can't factor in the side skin. You have to work with strap length and cup size to try and best accomidate it. It means trying on a lot of bras until you find one that is passable.

thanks- I had never thought about it but you are probably right- i know that it isn't a normal boob anymore just skin.

I had my side of chest or auxillia repair (bra overhang) taken care of in conjunction with my arm lift last week.  My bra overhang was really bad.  I think it was worse than my arms personally.  I had about 1.5 to 2 pounds removed from each side.  The incision goes from my elbow down my arm to my armpit and then straight down the side of my chest to meet my incision under my breast .  I'm sure your PS will address that when he examines you.  I made sure that was included when I got my quotes because I did not want my incision to stop at the armpit because it would have not addressed this issue.  It was pretty obvious how bad it was so it had to be addressed.  As long as you tell him what you want fixed, you'll be fine.  Communication is key.

Thank you so much for this info. i will definitely discuss with ps and ask him what he intends to do to repair- I intend to have my arms done and BL/BA so makes sens to fix it at same time. Just glad to know that it vcan be fixed. Sounds like a lot of scarring tho- oh well I'd rather the scar than this grotesque look.

I so know what you are saying.  I always explained it to people that I was just folding rolls of skin into a bra but really had no true breasts.  I fixed that last friday.  I had a lift and implants put in.  I only went to a size C which is what I have always been before breastfeeding 4 kids and losing 130 lbs.
