Does anyone have information or personal experience with firocystic breasts and implants? Is it safe to get implants when you have this or is it best to leave things alone?
I have breast implants now but really need to get a new lift and implants due to breastfeeding, weight loss, and a shifted implant. Two years ago I was diagnosed with fibrocystic breasts after having a mammogram because I had mastitis with breastfeeding. About a month ago I had my yearly mammogram. It said the same thing fibrocystic breasts with no change from the last mamo. I asked my ob/gyn if it was safe to get the lift with new implants, he said yes and we didnt discuss it any further. Problem is my husband is worried about the surgery with me having this. (honestly Im not sure if he is really worried about it or if he doesnt want to spend the money). Im really kind of heart broken because I have saved up half the money and planned this for years and now he tells me he is against it. Also like so many of you, I have lost weight and dream of having my body look better... Many years ago my mom had the fibrocystic breasts and when she got implants they removed the fibroids and she has had no problems with the coming back or anything. I cant seem to find any information on the internet about increased risks or anything. Maybe you guys can help me.  My health is far more important then how I look so if it is more risky then I would be fine with not doing it.   Thank you

I've had fibrocystic breasts since my teenage years. I did lose a ton of breast tissue with my weight loss but what little bit of tissue I had left, I still had a few cysts. I found that I greatly improved my condition by taking Vitamin E and avoiding caffeine. That being said, I had a lift with implants and there was no concern from my Gynecologist or my Plastic Surgeon. I've had a mammogram since getting the implants and there were no changes or problems.

Thank you for your answer Renee! I should probably be avoiding caffeine too. I will try taking some E. They do get pretty tender around PMS time, Ive heard those things help.
