Surgery on Wed. Extremely Nervous

I am scheduled for Panni, TT with muscle tightening, and lipo and I am so nervous. I couldn't sleep last night and its been on my mind all day. I thought I would be excited at this point but I'm not. I keep reading about all the posts on this board about pain, infections, etc. It would be great to hear some reassuring words from those who've had good experiences. Thanks

I had a lot done at once...LBL with muscle tightening, long thigh lift, long arm lift, lower back lipo, BA/BL, fat grafting in the butt...and I have said this before and will say it again...I really didn't have much pain!  It was and still is just soreness, like you were bruised all over (because really you are!!).  I am pretty good with pain, had children natural (no drugs) and now that was painful!  Ha ha!

I have no infections, but I will be 6 weeks on Thursday and still have a drain.  It's a super drag but I am SUPER happy with my results so far, and I know I am still swollen!  I do have a hematoma, but it's going down and to be expected sometimes.

If I had to do it all over again I would, but maybe I wouldn't of had them all at once...maybe break it up into two surgeries, but I am excited it's over. :)

Hey there! I am no expert, but just had an ext tt with BL/BA on 2/26, so I am exactly 11 days out and came back to work today. A little on the tired side and certain I won't do much when I get home tonight, but all in all the pain was very tolerable. I still have two abdominal drains in and hope to get them out sometime this week. I am very happy with my results so far! Good luck to you and keep us posted!

It's great to hear you are already back at work. I took 2 weeks off but would like to head back early if possible. I am usually pretty resilient and bounce back quickly. I had surgery for a fissure on a Friday and was back at work on Monday. I just waited and took my pain meds when I got to work so I could drive. I know it won't be that quick with this surgery but 11 days is something to shoot for.

Hi!
It's normal to go thru a stage of serious nervous and even second thoughts.....then you'll get excited again.
I've had so many procedures now (arms, arm revision, TT, LBL, Face/Eyes) and with each one I get excited, then nervous then really scared and think I should cancel and then excited again.  I'm having my last big procedure in 2 1/2 weeks and I'm just starting to get into the nervous stage...in about 10 days I'll be going crazy with worry then I'll come down again.  Actually I usually calm down a lot at my pre-op appt.

I too was worried about the TT because of stuff I read but it was one of the easiest recoveries for me.  Of course day 1 after any surgery is not fun, but I had no issues, no problems.....I was standing straight before I went back for my 1 week post-op appt, I was getting in and out of bed on day 3, I could get out of the recliner chair on my own on day 2 (I have a lot of strong leg muscles which I used to get myself up), I felt I was ready to take on the world again by week 2 or 3.
Sooooo don't get too nervous everyone has different experiences, some better than others....hopefully you will have as good or better than me.

Best wishes on your journey!!

I am going in on Wednesday and staying overnight. My mom is taking me home from the hospital and she will stay with me until my hubby gets home from work. Do you think I will need someone to stay with me during the day on Friday?

Personally I think if you can have someone with you at least the first 2 if not 3 days  it would be best.  You want to be sure you can get up and down and back and forth from the bathroom all by yourself.
Did you get a toilet seat riser?  It will really help!!!!! I was so glad I had mine.  Only cost about $20 at CVS or Walmart.  well worth it!!!

Plus you will not be able to bend over for a while so you'll need to be sure everything is within arms reach for you .

Best wishes!!

I think most of us go through that nervous stage. I know I did. I think I was less nervous this time around for some reason, maybe because I had done the LBL and kind of knew what to expect. The pain is very manageable with pain pills. I was only on pain pills like for 4 days with my LBL/BL, butt auto augmentation and lipo. I actually expected the pain to be worse than it was and for much longer. Even with this round I'm already down to 1 pain pill and taking them further apart so the pain is much better today. I haven't had any complications and recovered nicely with my last surgery and the dr said I'm doing great with this one. The results will be so worth it!
