Where is your thigh lift incision?
I'm just now starting to do research about thigh lifts. I thought all the incisions ran down to your knees. I think I saw that on one of the plastic surgery shows. From what little research I've done already I realize that some lifts have the incisions placed in the groin area.
So where is your incision? It will probably be awhile before I can have it done. I have a two year old and a 1 month old. I'm thinking I will need to wait at least 3 years for the youngest to understand he can't sat on my lap (if I have the groin incision).
So if you've had a thigh lift tell me about your experience. Also are there any great plastic surgery websites?
Thanks,
Amy

My incision runs down my leg to my knee and around my groin since I had the full lift. If you are doing just a small thigh lift I believe you'll just have the incision just around the groin.
It was one of the most painful surgeries I've had but after about 10 days the pain started to fade and I was feeling pretty normal by 3 weeks out. I probably wouldn't want to have a toddler sitting in my lap for at least a couple of weeks. Even after that I think they'd have to be pretty gentle on getting in & out of your lap, No surprise jumps and landing in your lap like my step-sisters niece did to me. Thank God I was 2 months out from my LBL and hadn't had my thighs done yet.

I am scheduled for a thigh lift in June. I will be having the groin to knee (hockey stick) incision, as I am not a good candidate for just the groin incision. When you start going on consults, you'll have a better idea of what is right for you. Good luck!

There are two basic inner thigh procedures.....both start at the groin.
One is basically an incision just at the groin.
The other is the Thighplasty which is the long incision that can go all the way down to the knee area. (it depends on how much laxity is on your legs...the surgeon may be able to stop without going all the way to the knees...just depends).
Hope that helps.
OH, for websites....there are dozens out there but go to "realself.com" you find GREAT info from 100's of surgeons. You can post questions and surgeons from all over the country can and do respond. I've learned SO MUCH there!
I'm having the Thighplasty (long incision) in 2 1/2 weeks....

My incisons are in my groin and go down my thighs and stop above my knees. I didn't have to have the incision go all the way to the knee. It just depends on your amount of laxity.
I am also a big fan of realself.com. I have asked a few questions with the surgeons there and gotten a lot of information.
