questions 3 weeks after breat lift - anyone?
I am wondering if anyone remembers very sore nipples (suddenly) on week 3.
I am guessing if this has to do with the nerve endings reattaching or something. (?)
Also, today I have a little bit of discharge on the incision line underneath one of my breasts. The dissolvable stitches are still there. . .
I'm sure this is normal, but would love any feedback anyone may have.
Thanks!
Cindy

I haven't had nipple soreness yet, but am not quite 3 weeks out. What is really sore and almost raw is the area of my braline under my breasts. Right there at the end of the lollipop incision I have some clear fluid draining. I think that my problem is more from the sports bra rubbing than anything else.
I do have several areas on my incision that are super sensitive. I think that it is nerve regeneration that creates that stabbing sensation.
My surgery was 2/17 and the stitches are starting to unravel in several places. Did you have implants with your lift? My lift incision looks wonderful but I wish the implants would hurry and drop because I think I look like a football player!
Good Luck!

Cindy,
I had a breast reduction and lift and was amazed to have sore nipples from day one through about week six. Something to do with the Cooper's nerve line...
It is entirely normal, everything you are experiencing is nomal and it does get better.

Hi!
I did not experience this but my surgeon did warn me that it could happen. He told me to massage the breasts and nipples so they would not become "hypersensitive". He explained how/why it happens but I honestly can't remember it all I just know that the light massaging each day helped!
Hope things are feeling a bit better now.....try the massage, it might help.

I am four months out and just gettin nipple soreness in just one breast it is awful I think it is normal but I am going to ask the doc this friday when I go there. I too am pretty sure it is just the nerves- I know in the beginning I was having some sharp shooting pains every now and then and they said that was normal and it was the nerves- I also have a girlfriend that said her nipples stayed sore for the first entire 1 year. So hang in there I still think it was worth it don't you????
