questions about tummy tuck

when they do the tummy tuck, do they pull some of the skin from the top part of tummy as well as the apron from below?  Ok, this is a little embarrassing...but my mons is sort of big and fleshy...did the tummy tuck pull that area up a little?  That would definitely be a plus in my eyes.

Also, how soon after a TT can you resume physical activity (in particular exercise and sex).  Did it really hurt to have sex after a tummy tuck?

Thanks everyone!  I will probably be having a tummy tuck along with a hysterectory and hernia repair the end of March.  I'm getting really excited about it.

On mine they did, yes they did pull up the mons area too ( dr asked me if I wanted him to). I was put on a weight lift restriction for 6 weeks, and no weight lifting workout for 3 months. I was told to wait 6 weeks before resuming intimacy, so I can't answer that question yet lol. I had a extended abdominal plasty with a augmentation mastoplexy. I don't regret anything. Good luck!

Thank you Lorraine!  That gives me a good idea about what to expect.  :)

I'm not originally from Nebraska...my husband is...so I'm not familiar with St. Edward.  There are tons of little towns outside of Lincoln.  His mom lives in a tiny little town called Ashland.

Take care,

Basically from the incision up to the original belly button was removed for me.....the skin above the belly button area was moved down to meet up with the bottom of the incision.  Naturally, the skin/mons area was lifted a bit.  Ok, more than a bit as I have seen my anatomy in a way that I never knew existed (hahaha)....so obviously my mons was lifted during this TT.

Now, that said....here is a word of caution....I am the most swollen (4 weeks out) in the mons area....I look like a "Ken Doll" down there....its gotten better every day...but its not normal yet...I still have a few pounds of fluid (I would say 1-2 pounds) but I hear that every week it gets better.....

Best of Luck, Courtney

Thank you for sharing your experience with me.  I wonder if sleeping with a pillow under your hips would help you?  It would elevate that area a little...although it might feel awkward sleeping like that.

I hope your swelling goes down soon!  That must seem really strange!

Thanks again!

I have so many pillows on me, under me, around me...its not funny...my husband has dubbed me the 'pillow hogger'.....

It is strange...but expected...I feel WAY better now that I am four weeks out.....just know in the beginning you may feel not so good...but it gradually gets better...now, I cannot wait until April 1 when I can get back to the gym...right now my weight is at a standstill but I don't want it going in the other direction!!!!!!!! And I have been hungry this past week, ugh!

Love it!  I had my TT done on 2/17 and I am "Ken Doll" for sure.  I looked at a side view in the mirror yesterday and thought my goodness that looks obscene!  And, you are so right about everything moving "up" so that you get quite a picture of your nether regions in the mirror!
I have come to detest the word "mons" because I feel like I had girl parts before and a "mons" now.  The word is just yucky!

I am having a TT the end of May.

If you go to this web site - in the middle of the screen is a 3D video of the procedure. It is graphic - but it will give you a very good idea of what they do.

for a real video - go to You Tube & search for tummy tuck!! My PS told me he will be pulling my belly button all the way down to the hair line!!

Everything that everyone has said so far has been true to me also. Not only did I get a little lift there, I got a little bit of an upper thigh lift which was great.
