I just thought about something about working out (my situation)

OK I am on a wound vac. So when my wound closes I thought I could work out but is it going to be like it was when I first had surgery and I have to be careful with my incision and have to wait 6 more weeks? ACK. I am dying for cardio. Right now I can walk leisurely and do some weights with my arms and leg lifts but nothing abdominal or cardio. I will ask the Dr. on the 11th but those with past wound issues what happened for you?

I have had a wound vac twice, post RNY, and post hernia repair.   I was forbidden to do any cardio and heavy lifting until I was completely off the vac and healed.  I was told I would be risking complications.  I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but...walking does great things to help with weight control...the cardio conditioning will return.  Be patient and gentle with yourself.  It will come.  The last thing you want is further complications.  Good luck.

Yep I know no cardio now while on wound vac but I was just wondering if when I am off the vac if I am healed or if I have to wait 6 weeks after the vac is gone
