I went to my  PS today at Kaiser and he said I can get my panniculectomy done as soon as my BMI is at 30 for 6weeks so I have to lose 28 pounds. I am excited and motivated , I just hope it gets off of me quickly! Any one else had to follow this rule and how soon did they get there bmi down?

The general standard with Kaiser is bmi under 30, but if you are very fit, and muscular, your bmi with your excess skin might exceed that.  Mine did - but once I asked for another opinion at West LA, they don't use that same guideline, and the doctors could see that I had very little body fat, and that was evidenced by my body fat composition as well, there was no questioning that.  When I had my consult in Ontario, it was an issue, and I was told that I had to get below the 30bmi, and maintain the weight for 6 months.  You can ask for a referral to WLA and upgrade to a full tummy tuck instead of panni removal for a fee, and then see what they say.  Just a thought.

Thanks for the info,
I do still have a good amount of belly fat .
I was actually at 165 last feb. but gained a little every month for a year so i am glad (kinda ) for the incentive to get it off again.
