tt question
I lost 54 with 20 to go. I had 2 csections, so even though my stomach went down, I still had that hanging skin...just with less fat! I only lost 1 pound of skin on both sides, but the results are dramatic and amazing! I'm still wearing my garment all day, but I love shower time...I get to look at my flat tummy! lol The definition is what has me most impressed! I've been working so hard, I'm glad to now see what I've been working!
What size clothing are you wearing now? Did the tt cause you to go down any in your clothing? I still need to lose around 20 to 30 lbs too but I have not lost anything in a year so I think my body is fine with this weight that is why I was thinking of getting the tt now, cause I dont know if I can lose anymore. The dr said that if i lost 10-20 lbs after tt it probably wouldnt be a big deal cause I dont have that much weight left in the tummy area. Do you mind me asking what you weigh now? And you said you lost 1 lb of skin on both sides does that mean a total of 2 lbs? And did you have any lipo? did that change your appearance at all? Thank you for any info, it sounds like you and me are around the same weight and thats why I am so interested cause we would probably have around the same outcome. Did the band have any affect on the tt surgery cause of the port? Did you do alot of research on plastic surgeons before you picked one? The plastic surgeon that i have in mind has never done a lap band patient but is talking to my lap band dr. but he has done alot of rny patients.
I will try to answer everything. If I miss something, please ask again.
I started out at 254 and now I'm 192. I want to be 170-175. I wear a tight 14. I have a pear shape, smaller at top with smaller waist and lots of hips and bootay! My clothes look fantastic now since there is no muffin top! I lost 2 inches in my waist. My jeans fit better, but not quite ready for the 12. The 2 pounds was the weight of the skin and fat...this really isn't much of a weight reduction surgery! He did lipo above and on each side of my belly button and really makes the difference. I mean my stomach is board flat from my breast to my pubic bone!
My surgeon specialized in post weight loss plastic surgery, but he had only dealt with 2 other ports. Since I am an anesthesiologist, I just asked one of our general surgeons (who does thousands of bands, but not mine) to move it. I'm glad I did because it was hanging on by 1 suture instead of 4! My stomach is so tight, I can barely feel the port....before, I could easily feel it and even see the mound where fat had deposited on top of it. I felt like my band was tight for a few days, but then it went back to normal.
I researched my PS, but I chose this one b/c he specialized in weight loss PS, he was highly recommended by the surgeons in my town, I met many of his satisfied customers, and I actually did the anesthesia for him every Wed, so I frequently saw his work. You must be comfortable with him and word of mouth is golden.
As far as your band and weight loss, I abandoned my band a year ago. It's there, but I stopped losing after 25 pounds. I didn't want it so tight, I couldn't eat but 1/2 cup of food. I'm not sure if it's on right anyway as I can eat bread, steak, all fruits and veggies, etc without problem with 9+ ccs! So I choose to follow a higher protein (with plenty of heathy fats) and low carb (fruits and veggies) and that is what has helped me lose my weight. I happily eat 1700-2000 cals and continue to lose. It's only when I fall back and start eating too much junk that I gain. But honestly, the band helps prevent overeating. And I rarely even get hungy....so all in all, i'm glad I have.
Whew, that was a mouthful! Let me know if I can help you with anything else!

Thank you so much for all that info, it does help. I wish I could have my port moved. Does your port ever cause you any pain? I get pain in the muscle where it is stiched sometimes. I try to stay under 1500 calories and I dont lose anything i just yoyo, maybe its the food I am eating that is making me not lose. I dont know anyone that has had ps so I cant ask anyone who they went to, This dr seems to be very good and is conservative, he has been in the buisness for 32 years, I have seen pictures of his work....but what does that tell someone lol, of course he is going to show his best work lol. One thing I like about this dr is that he has been doing this new procedure that is better healing time and less chance for that fluid that is under the skin (cant remember what its called) . And his lipo he uses a syringe insted of the machine cause he says it is more precise and he can mesure the amount of fat taking out better, he says it takes more time that is why alot of drs dont want to do it this way anymore, but he thinks you get better results. This is a scary procedure and I want to make sure that I am making the right choice on drs. did your dr say that when you lose more weight if it will affect the tt that was done? Once again Thank you for the info I really appreciate it.
