Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum.  I had RNY 8/4/08.  I have gone from 340# to approx 176#.  I am scheduled to have an anchor-incision TT and arm lift on March 25th.

My final goal weight is 140-150# and I'm 5'9".

I know everyone is different but does anyone know the average amount of weight taken off in skin/tissue with the surgeries?

Thanks,
Melissa

I don't know the average, but mine was basically zip, zero, none --- think the implant weight made up for any skin loss weight.  I was 138 at plastics and almost 4 weeks later I'm 138.

Best of luck to you and everybody is different.

It's all very individual and depends on skin. I have a friend who was a size 6 and weighed 140ish and still maintained that weight even though she can wear 4;s.

I was 141ish and he took 6 pounds of skin and 2 liters of fat. Even with my swelling and 2nd surgery due to infection I weighed 130 yesterday.,

I lost 160 lbs ...similar to what you've lost, and my surgeon removed 15 lbs of skin in my lower body lift!  It was awesome!!!!  I'm 5 weeks out and it's some of the best money I've ever spent...besides my sleeve!

Skin doesn't weigh a lot.  That accounts for the variety of weight loss in different people.  It really all depends on how much you start with.  I weigh the same now as when I went to have my surgery, so didn't really lose anything.  Don't count on reducing your weight by having plastics.  If you think you have more weight to lose, then lose it and THEN go for the plastics.  Most surgeons want you to be at a stable weight for about 6 months prior to plastics.
Good luck
L.
