More Drain ???

I asked another poster that had her drain in for 5 weeks but I wanted to ask you all as well.
This may be a stupid question but at what point were you able to go out and do things again? I can see staying home for a couple of weeks but more than that is just torture. If you kept your drains in longer than 2 weeks were you able to go out and do things? Can the drain be camoflauged by your clothes? I am having a TT, Panni, and Lipo and I can't imagine being couped up in my house for 5 weeks.

I went out after a week and a half and had only one drain left, I just pinned it up under my shirt.  I was slow moving but it didn't stop me from going out.  The last one was removed at two weeks.  If I had had it longer I know I would have kept going out, I just would have pinned it under my shirt.

I was out walking the week after surgery and had all 4 drains. Then at 2 weeks went out to dinner & a move w/ 2 drains. At 3 weeks was at the gym w/ 1 drain. Back to work w/ 1 drain from week 4 to week 6. I was able to pin the drain under my shirt and put the tube down my pants.

Everything was fine w/ the exception of going back to work. The first few days the drainage increases and soaked thru the gauze on my leg around the drain and soaked my pants (thank god they were black). I just started taking extra gauze to work & emptying the drain more during the day to try to avoid this.

okay so my doctor says I will have two drains on my tummy, one on each boob and one on each arm for a total of six drains.  he says they will only be in there for a week.  You had yours much longer, that really sucks, the drain was the worst part of recovering from my DS - so I might have drains for as much as 6 weeks after surgery?
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Depends on your Dr. and his rules. Mine wouldn't take them out unless they were draining less than 30cc in 24 hours. I had one that just wouldn't stop. Other Dr.'s don't leave them in that long no matter what. Something you'll have to ask your Dr. about.
