My Face

My face looked better when I was 30 pounds heavier that I am now. I'm pretty sure that I am too young to be thinking about PS on my face but I have got to do something. I look old and sick. Any ideas on how to make my face look better without surgery?

i have the same issue.  I look much better when the fat was keeping the wrinkles stretched out, but I have heard that a face lift is very very painful.

I had a lower face lift and upper and lower eye lift.  No real pain.  Swelling and numbness that feels odd to the touch, but I didn't have any pain.

You can try botox and/or cosmetic fillers (Restylene, Juvaderm, etc.).  These injections are done in the office and will smooth fine lines and wrinkles making you look much younger. Good luck!

I was going to say ... you don't look old or sick to me.  You look great.

On a lighter note ... you could wait to see if you have any rejuvenating weight regain, in a year or two -- stave off a face lift that way!

I'm 37 and I sent pictures of my face to Dr. S and Dr. Q and had a consult with a local PS for this same concern. I also have really bad raccoon eyes. Dr. Q agreed that I need an upper and lower Blero with a small brow lift. The local doc said an upper face lift should do the job.
Dr. S said WLS peeps are different and their skin is different. He also mentioned the possibility of those few regain pounds filling out the face. He said he needs to actually touch the skin and feel the elastisity and quality of the skin to be able to tell for sure, but that in his expereince, a chemical peel is usually all that is needed for WLS peeps my age range. He said to be sure that the chemical peels is a deep one applied by a doctor since the deep chemical peels are dangerous if not monitored correctly.  After lurking on these boards for a few years now, I have decided to trust Dr. S. and get him to do it when I go there for by body work.

I think you look beautiful and just need to give yourself a little time to adjust before making a decision. I looked at your profile and see that last December you had already lost 142 lbs in less than a year! Congratulations!!! But in order to lose that much, you have been starving this past year. You're face will show that gaunt, starving look for awhile. But after you add extra calories to your diet you will see your face go back to more normal and not have that starving-person look.

So I suggest, be patient before seeking plastics. I had 4 surgeries in 18 months and I will say without a doubt that my neck/ lower face lift was the most painful. You're stunning and just need a little time for your body to heal. I also needed to gain a few extra pounds because I really did get a little too thin. I'm 5'8" and my lowest weight was 136 and I'm now 147 .... exactly where I should be!

joy, love, peace to you.
