with my face/neck lift i showered on the 3rd day post-op he even said I could use shampoo just let the water roll down my head onto my incisions I guess to get rid of the dry blood so it would be easier to remove stitches , boy did it feel great

I showered in Monterrey within 2 1/2 days I think. After my wound cleaning at the hospital on Feb 2nd I havne't had a shower. I do feel disgusting. We bought a plastic stool and I sit on it and let the water come up to my legs and I bath and then bend over and wash my hair. I barely wash anything close to my wound or PIC line. They said dirt from your hair could even cause infection. So they may be super careful but that's what they said here at my local hospital. In your case I'd ask to take a shower. Especially if your incisions look good.

I don't really know about the face, but I had the most horrible wait to shower after my tt/bl/ba/lipo last Wednesday.  Right after recovery while I was still very groggy, I had to go tinkle.  Of course I soaked my binder which was not well aligned in the crotch.  Then, I started experiencing vag. bleeding (either a period or from disturbing uterine scar tissue, not sure which).  My surgeon and her partner who checked on me that night were both very adamant that I couldn't take a shower until Sunday!
Ugh, that was the nastiest 5 days of my life and I felt like a new human after the shower.  I put a plastic chair in the shower and used a hand sprayer to rinse my hair out and lightly dampen the rest of me, then shampooed and bathed carefully, then shaved my legs.  I didn't directly wash my incisions or drain areas, but they got damp in the process.  I patted them dry very carefully, let my body air dry completely, and put my binder back on.
I repeated the process today but did not wash my hair.  I was completely wiped out both times, heck, I am wiped out from telling the story, but it was so worth it.  I could not have done it without a shower chair, a hand sprayer, and my mom to help.
Good luck!

I'm glad that you get to shower today. Just keep reminding yourself too that everyone heals at a different rate and different doctors have different timelines/guidelines and procedures.  I had to remind myself at times that I'm trusting this man's knowledge and expertise when it comes to preforming surgery, and I have to trust it in terms of the way he wants me to limit myself or treat me in healing.  It can be hard when we read here and everyone else is able to do things that we are not being permitted to do.
