Swelling - 10 months out - UGH
Yes, I do have a problem with one of my breasts - come to find out my surgeon has changed practices and now I'm fighting with who covers the revisions. My original contract (with the clinic) says if I need revisions all I have to pay is the anesth. So its a matter of going to a new surgeon (new to the practice) at the clinic or going to my surgeon's new hospital, paying him for consults because he can't waive the fees there for old patients, or waiting until my surgeon feels like traveling across the country for a day to do the surgery (which he says will be June-July time). In the mean time, I am going to go do a free consult with the new surgeon and see what he says.
Either way, my old surgeon says I'm going to have to have a revision on at least one breast. Luckly though, the weird part is on the bottom and they are still better than before surgery so I'll be able to wait until after my wedding in April before I go under the knife again. Yeah!

That sucks Cass. I don't have any significant swelling and I wonder if it's because I didn't have any lipo. the upper part of my vertical incision for the anchor cut TT portion of my LBL has been acting up lately but I think it's probably the nerves er-emerging rather then swelling. I hope it resolves for you soon.
I hear ya too! I don't even post about my swelling anymore. There is no majic cure. At least for me. I'm 8 months out and still swell daily. Some days aren't so bad but when I really swell, it's as bad as the first few months. The swelling can last up to a year or more so I try really hard not to stress over it. I've done and taken everything imagineable to no avail. The swelling is so individual. I also believe the type and how many procedures were done at once can impact it too. I had a lot done so I'm not surprised with the swelling. I have heard of some women swelling up to 18 months throughout the last couple of years on here. Hang in there! We'll get past this eventually.
Hey Cass, I read recently that Dr. S recommends looking at pictures of people who are more than six months out instead of fresh post ops because it gives a more realistic view. Do you have any recent pictures to post? Even in a bathing suit or something? it seems like by 6 months people have moved on and aren't really posting anymore :(
So sorry you are still swelling :( I can imagine that is pretty miserable. I hope it stops soon!!! Robin

I am fourteen months out. I still have swelling and numbness. although I have some better days, I still swell everyday either in my stomach, lower butt/upper thighs or at the LBL scar area in the back. Although my results look great, this swelling/numbness is annoying. I still wear a compression undergarment at night and when I work out. If I don't , my lower butt feels loose and jiggly in the morning. Although you can't "SEE" it, I can feel it.
Has this affected any future PS decision? Yes, I won't be doing my arms. Now my arms aren't as bad as the other parts and there was always a question on whether I would do them or not. But really knowing what the feeling of swelling and numbness is, I can say that influenced my decision.
I am not on here as much as I used to be, but I plan to update to this website at 18 mos and at 2 yrs. I think it is very helpful to hear from long timers. That is one thing that is missing from this site. Not enough PS's online to share experiences down the road. Although I can't say that I would ever really understand what swelling and numbness felt like until I had it happen to me!
