I went in to see a PS for a (mid journey) panniculectomy. He totally agrees, this NEEDS to be done... I have documentation, etc.. Ok, the PS office sends their info and my documentation to THEIR insurance dept. then they send it to mine... I went in on Jan. 5, they sent it to their ins. dept. on Jan. 7th.. The problem is I have called my ins. company to find out what's going on with the approval and they had no record of it. I called PS office to find out and they say they have to get ahold of their ins. dept... ACK!!  I NEED to have this done like yesterday!! How long does this approval process usually take? What do I say when I call my insurance company to find out? I can never seem to say the words right and they sound confused as to what I'm asking. Help??

My Panni got approved the same day. The insurance person at my PS's office submitted it online. The paperwork trail is an ancient way of doing things. Sounds like your PS and insurance company need to move on in to the 21st century with the rest of us. Good luck.. Waiting is always the worst part.

Actually, that is how they do it, online... So I don't know what's taking so long. The PS I went to is well known too. It should not be taking this long. Thanks for your reply!
