Is there any hope of insurance covering arm lift?
Every insurance plan is different. You have to check with yours to see if they include plastics. If they do,then you need to have documentation from medical providers that the odor is related to your excess skin. IF your insurance has a total exclusion for plastics then there is no reason to pursue it.

Revised to the Sleeve after losing 271 lbs with the LapBand.
I have no experience with any other insurance, but today I recieved word back from Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA that not only would my abdominoplasty be covered in full, but also the brachioplasty. It didn't even occur to me that the skin problems I noted in my initial consult would be part of my submission, so it was an incredible and completely awesome surpise.
Just to note, I had roux-ny in 2002 and lost slightly upwards of 150 lbs. I've maintained a stable, if not slowly declining weight for at least 5 years. That worked in dramatic favor for my claim.
I say give it a shot, it sounds like you've got a legitimate concern with what you've described. I've started to consider how living my entire life in what could be called at any size a "soft" body has sort of skewed my perception of what for others might register as intolerable discomfort. Tending to irritated skin and deep recurring cysts just seemed like maintenance, a small trade-off for the weight loss rather than an objective matter of medical concern.
