I'm home

I'm home now.  (Actually at my mom's).  Had my scar revision/tt/bl/ba/lipo on Wed. 2/17.
When I woke in recovery the pain was beyond description.  My surgery took nearly 8 hours, so it is no doubt that I had some discomfort!  I stayed in the guest suites at the surgery center for two nights, then came home to my mom's yesterday.  I must say that this has been the most difficult surgery I have ever had and at some times I would rate my pain a 20+ on a pain scale of 10.  I am moving a little better today.
My hubby has the kids with him at my mil's house.  I really don't think that I could have done it with the kids here, because no matter how incapacitated you are, you are still mama!
I am so ready to take a shower.  Right now that is my major goal.  (And feeling better soon).
One thing I would suggest is to have your surgery done at an inpatient facility.  The first 24-48 hours you really do need monitoring and help.  I am completely surprised that tummy tucks are an outpatient procedure.
I had a lollipop lift with 665cc in one breast and 635 in the other.  Curious to see how they turn out!  The surgeon told me that since my chest is so broad that 500cc's would look like oranges sitting on my chest.  So, I hope that it all looks ok once everything settles.

Hi!
Glad to hear you home and seem to be doing ok.
The first day or 2 after every procedure were the roughest for me....then everything seems to settle down a bit.
Be sure to keep up with your pain meds.
Get plenty of rest!
Wear your compression garment to keep the swelling down
and
get lots of protein to repair the body.

Take care
Keep us posted on how you are doing/feeling
Best wishes

Sorry to hear your pain is that bad.  I would wake myself up during the night (every 4 hours) and take my pain meds - it definitely helped me in the morning.

Take good care of yourself and get your rest.

I know there would have been no way I could have done my surgery as an outpatient.  I'm so thankful that I was able to stay in the hospital for 3 nights and 4 days.  I had the help I needed.  It took over a week for me to not get dizzy when I showered.

I'm glad you're home and you have your Mom to help you.  It's good when family is there.

So sorry you are having such a time with the pain- hope it diminishes in intesity more and more each day. My own surgeries will be June 1, so I am really paying attention to what people just out of surgery like you are saying about it.

Best wishes for a speedy healing-
