thighs rejecting stitches?

One thigh seems to be going backward instead of forward. I am having spots open back up and small cords coming out . I assume these were there to hold me together and my body is rejecting them. I pulled on one and oh my it was painful so I am just clipping them. They are like heavy stiff thread with barbs. They are rough and not smooth. Only one leg is doing this. Has this happened to anyone else? I am beginning to wonder about my surgeon. I am not happy with my eyes because now I still have the bags and scars so I look worse than before surgery and now my thighs are opening.

Not sure how far out you are but I did have that on my thighs. It happened right at the Y where the incisions connected. I had 2 small areas that were a little open and about 4 or 5 weeks the stitches started to come out. I pulled on one and it came out completely. The other one came out a little more but then really started to hurt so I just cut it. I learned my lesson on that one and ust cut the other one on the other thigh when it started to come out. Didn't have any problem w/ them after that, no more stitches spitting out.

I have not had my inner thighs done yet but I've had lots of other procedures.  I did reject a couple of stitches but my surgeon removed them.  I know there are some "barbed" threads surgeons can use when stitching internally, perhaps that's what you have.  Regardless, I'm sure they must be very uncomfortable.  If I were you I'd call the surgeon and try to get an appointment so he can fix it hopefully once and for all.

So far as your eyes, have you discussed this with your surgeon?  Revisions to the eyes must be tough but if you are not happy the surgeon needs to know so he can correct it.  How long ago did you have the eyes done?  (I just had mine done)

Best wishes..hope you feel better (and happier) soon.

I had a couple spots where the barbed type sutures poked through. Nothing ever opened up, they just poked through and were bothering me. My surgeon pulled them just a bit then snipped them and they retracted back into my skin. After that I never had any more problems with it. You need to make sure you are in contact with your surgeon and let him know the things you are not happy with.

My surgery was on Dec 11 and my surgeon wants to wait six months out to redo my eyes. I am over 100 miles from his office and kept thinking it would stop and heal over. I had the same string at the top of my leg that opened two weeks out and it healed before I could see the doctor. I just was not expecting it this far out. One leg seems to be doing great. I do plan to call Tuesday and see what they say. I am not scheduled to go back till March. Two weeks ago another doctor looked at my incisions and they were doing fine and looked good. I guess I am just lucky and have problems.
