The day after your last drain is removed for me after an extended TT.

Had to wait for the drains to come out and, then, short showers until the incisions were completely closed and absolutely no baths.

I finally could take a bath in late January.  My tummy tuck was November 27 and my my breast reduction and lift December 23.

I took my first shower two days after my surgery. You do have to be creative on what to do with your drains.

My surgeon allowed me to shower the next day with my drain still in place.  I did use a shower chair. It made it a lot easier sitting down with the drain tucked in my lap.

I showered 2 days after my LBL & Brachio but used a shower chair & good thing cuz I almost passed out. Had all my drains. After my MTL & BL/BA I waited 2 or 3 days just cuz I didn't feel up to it but was allowed to a day or so after surgery w/ all drains in.

I personally waited for the drains to come out. But, my doc said I could shower when I got home, I just chose to wait.

You should ask your surgeon, seems like there are a lot of different time frames for it. I was allowed to have a warm shower 4 days after surgery, but no soap and no direct spray contact on incisions. I had to pat dry everything. Thank goodness I didn't have to wait till my 4  drains came out, that would have meant  21/2 weeks without a shower and that's just gross.

Good luck that first shower felt so good

It depends on the surgeon and the procedure.  I was able to shower 5 days after my breast reduction, over a week after my arms, 1 day after my TT and 1 day after my LBL, and 1 day after my Face-lift.

Each surgeon has their preference/protocol so you really have to double check with your surgeon for his/her wishes.  FYI - many surgeons now post their Post-OP instructions on their website...you might want to check your surgeons website.

Hope that helps...
