Protein After Plastics
Just prior to and post ps, what did you up your protein intake to? Also, I am supposed to quit taking my multi because it has Vit. E. Does anyone know of a multi without Vit. E?
I'm not scheduled for my lbl with ba/bl until June 1, but I want to start planning and getting prepared.
BTW- I've learned so much from this board. Thank you to each of you who have shared your journeys here. It is such a help!

On a normal day I aim for 100-120 grams of protein. Before and after plastics as I'm recovering, I get that 100 grams in with protein shakes alone and all of the protein I take in as food I just count as gravy. I probably take in closer to 150-200 grams during that time. Whey protein isolate is the type of protein that has the highest percent of bioavailability to us and that's found in the powered proteins and some of the ready to drink. Normally the ready to drink ones don't have quite as high of an amount of protein.

I am using Dr. Lo here in Houston, and they have me upping my protein by 100gr and also have special vitamins in my pre-op/post-op programs. They are Vitamedica and they do NOT have vitamin e but do have several other supplements to prevent/aid swelling and bruising!

When I was recently in Mexico having my plastic surgery, my protein bars and shakes were a God send. I had Muslce Milk lite bars and OMG they are like eating a Mars Bar. I allowed myself 2 per day but could have devoured several more. I also allowed 2 or 3 Nectar fuzzy naval shakes per day. I would really suggest bringing protein with you.

When I was in Mexico I used the Grab N go Nectar pouches for easy transport and packing. I got mine from Bariatric Choice. each pouch is 24 grams of protein, I think. OMG it is so good. I mixed mine with a lil drink box of sugar free orange juice just for a lil extra taste. they are fantastic. You can just search Syntrax products and I'm sure you will find them. If not, I have added the web page for you. It is hard to find them in Canada and takes over 2 weeks for them to come from the US for me. but they were so convenient.
