Pain Control after TT?

I am having my tt/bl/ba a week from tomorrow (2/17).  I am having a pain pump of marcaine after surgery.
What oral pain meds worked best for you?  I know I will have to take some form of narcotic for the first few days, but hopefully can switch to something else pretty quickly.  Which one from each category seemed to help you guys the most postop.
Thanks!

I am on vicodin.  They originally gave me one every 6 hours, that was not enough, they increased it to two every six hours but I asked them to give them to me every 3 hours.  It seems with having had RNY I absorb it and use it up in 3 hours so it works really well, I am now down to one every 4 to 6 hours.  I had my surgery last Thursday.  (also, they immediatly put me on stool softeners because of issues most of us have with pain meds)

No pain meds after your TT!! Good for you!

Did you have lipo as well? I am having a TT with lipo - I have heard that the lipo can be painful.

Thanks!!

No, no lipo.

Plastics #1: panniculectomy, tummy tuck (with the waist brought in) and hernia repair.

Plastics #2: breast reduction and lift.

Didn't need pain meds for either.  Although I did encounter one big surprise with the breast reduction.  I had heard that decreased sensitivity was common.  I had increased sensitivity.  Something about the Cooper's nerve and large breasts...

I didn't need pain meds for either, though.

WOW! No pain meds!! That is impressive! I have a high pain threshhold, but the TT was tough for me.  I was on the percoset for 10days.

I was on vicodin for about 3 or 4 days and then switched to tylenol for a couple of more days  just to take the edge off the discomfort.  The worse pain is the first 24-48 hours.
