How long did you resume going to the gym after your tummy tuck.  I just want to use the elliptical and/or treadmill is 6 weeks enough time.  Thanks!

Probably not but ask your plastic surgeon.

Mine said 8 to 12 weeks and released me to start working out again GRADUALLY at 9.

mine allowed me to return to the gym after 6 weeks but said to take it easy and listen to my body.  if something starts to hurt or pull stop the activity.  I still can't do any stomach crunches or sit ups, but treadmill and eliptical are going fine.

My surgeon told me I could start back on the treadmill when I asked him at about 2 1/2 weeks out.  But I'm sure it depends on how you are healing on what you can do when.

at 6 weeks I could not wait to get back on the trail that I used to run.  I walked it one day and I was fine.  then the next day I ran up the hills and all of my incisions ached.  so needless to say I have taken a few days off.  but I was cleared at 6 weeks to swim as well.  Once again, I went once, swam a kilometer and paid for it the next day.  Nothing serious, just very achey

I was cleared at 6 weeks, but waited till week 7, then only exercised gently, along with walking.  Frankly, I didn't have the energy to do more.  Now I'm 8 weeks, and did the complete Curves workout yesterday for the first time.  Just listen to your doc and your body - don't over do!

My surgeon is telling me I can walk or do the elipticle after about 2 weeks if I am comfortable with it. But nothing strenuous until 4-6 weeks, at the least. This is the thing I am dreading the worst about surgery....NOT working out. It is so hard to get started back once you stop. And i have been doing so good with working out for the last 2 years.
