didn't take off enough

I just had a lbl and bl, one week ago today. There is no way I could go back to work for at least another week. When the drains come out you feel soooo much better. But, I still have little spots open where the tubes were and it is still a bit hard to sit. Plus, my lower back is sore from the way I have been sleeping, I would take off more time if possible. This is just my experience, everyone is different. Also, I had a lbl, no muscle tightening. Good luck!

I regret that I did not arrange to have more time off for recovery, before going back to work.  And I gave myself a month.  It should have been two or three.

That's just me, though.

I understand your desire to return to work, as it seems you have your own business and when you don't work, you are losing income...but...from the posts I have read, it really seems like more complications can arise out of tyring to "bounce" back too fast...I took a full 4- 5 weeks to allow my body and mind the time it needed to heal  after putting it thru so much. I probably could have pushed myself a little more after 3.5 weeks, but before that, there is no way I could have worked all day, sitting or not......I have had virtually no complications, no incision splits, no drain whole problems etc etc....I had an LBL and BL on 8-20-09 and had some revision work with lipo on the lower back on 01-12-2010...With the revisions I took a full 2 weeks to just lay around and baby myself....It is also my understanding, that if you do too much and pull or cause stress to your tt suture line, it can widen and thcken....I don't know that, because I didn't do that and I have a very thin, flat scar ( although still pink)...If you are able, allow yourself at least 3 weeks or more and you can always go in earlier if you really heal up quick and feel good :)))

Best of luck on your upcoming surgery....
