didn't take off enough

I was looking at my schedule today for when I go back to work after my tt/bl/ba.  My surgery date is Wed. 2/17 and I have patients scheduled 3/1.  I only blocked out 10 days after my surgery to take off.  I am starting to realize that this may be unrealistic.  I am a dentist, and while I sit, my days are pretty busy and hectic.  I think that I may move the patients from at least the first part of that week.  I know that I should take at least three weeks off.  I HATE moving patients and putting them off, especially when I just took 4 weeks of maternity leave in June and was sick one day in December and had to r/s.
All of this being said, I had a c-section immediately followed by a 4-day hospital stay with MRSA and went back to work in only 4 weeks.  So maybe I can do it???
Opinions anybody?  Thanks so much!

P.S. I got an email back from Dr. S with a quote of $9500, but I just don't know that I can stand to be away from my kids for 12 days!  I am just going to have it done in Shreveport.

I think it's better to plan for the extra time now than to find you are pushing yourself too hard come March 1st and end up having to move patients at that point.

I think you will need a little more time. you may sit but you have to move & bedn over patients and move your arms around & will be using tummy muscles & chest muscles
Good Luck

I just had an extended TT and think based upon your past medical history as well as the multiple procedures you will be having and your job, you need at least 4 weeks out of work. I teach Zumba and am in good physical shape, but I find myself very tired still and it's taking awhile to find my stamina.

seeing that you teach zumba....how long do you think a person gettin a TT should wait before doing zumba again, or any other workouts?

My PS recommended at least 6 weeks. The way I feel stamina wise, he's completely on target.

I needed a lot more time after my TT. I did the arms/boobs separately, and was back to work in 2 weeks. The TT, however, I needed 3.

I think at least 3 weeks is needed.  I have a high tolerance to pain and normally rebound very quickly but I'd still suggest 3 weeks if you are having muscle tightening.

The breast part will be no big deal but the tummy muscles need to heal and you won't be able to stand straight at first and it takes a few weeks before you can bend over.

Best wishes on your decision.

I just had a breast reduction/lift and took 4 weeks off - it was covered by insurance so I took sick leave.  I could have gone back in 3.  And I COULD have gone back in 2 but would have been tired and uncomfortable.  I am planning on taking 3 weeks of vacation  for my lower body lift.  I hope it's enough.  I'm afraid of the flight 10 days after TT, let alone going back to work.  As a dentist you are moving around a lot and I would be afraid I would cause myself complications by doing that all day.
