Boobie dent?

What causes the boobie dent or double bubbles after BA and why do some people get it and others dont? Does it have anything to do with placement (over versus under) or type (silicone, saline or gummy) or amount of breast tissue already there?

I dont know if this is true or not, but I heard that it is caused when a PS goes under with the implant and there is already breast tissue on the other side. The muscle separates the real and fake boobs and creates the dent.

I have implants placed under the muscle and I also have a dent on the side by my underarms.  When I asked my surgeon about the dent he stated it's were he did the liposuction.  I'm assuming that's the dent you're talking about, because it's the only dent I have.  I don't have any bubbles on or around the breast and my breasts looks great.  I had my bl/ba almost 7 months ago.

Sherline:

I remember you stated earlier that one side was higher than the other.  Did your left side fine drop.  Man I had mine done 2 months ago and still waiting.  I noticed that it dropped a little but man its taking awhile.  O well the doctor told me that sometimes it takes 6 months to a year.  I guess I have to wait patiently.  Now I feel a little better wearing a tank top but I think you can only tell one is higher than the other if you really stare.

Yes, the left breast finally dropped and they are both the same size now.  I don't really remember when it happened, but I recall my husband stating they finally look normal.  At almost six months later I am scheduled to have a revision (2/26), because my surgeon wants them a little higher.

I would never say be patient to anyone again, because after having a surgery like this it's almost impossible to not want instant satisfactory results.  But I will say you are going to be happy with your end results.

It is related to the weight and placement of the implant as well as how deep your natural breast crease it, for example, if they put in a large implant under the muscle and your breast crease was deep (saggy), and the implant falls under your natural breast crease, it makes the dent.

I know, I am the poster child for double bubble on justbreastimplants.com in the complication gallery. I had them explanted and my natural boobs went right back to normal, no more bubble!

I'm not sure what the cause of this would be, as I am only in the pre-op stage of getting a BL/BR/BA (under the muscle using gel implants), but will definitely be interested in reading the responses you receive. It's a question I have as well.

I've heard of "capsular contraction" and will be asking my plastic surgeon more about this when I visit him for my pre-op in two weeks. My surgery is scheduled for March 11th.

Incidentally, I had my RNY the same date/year as you!
