Steph..

that is a very tough and personal question.  Everyone makes their choice based on different factors that influence that decision.  I made my choice based on lots and lots of results.  There are definate pros and cons to each implant.  What I did find in my research ( www.makemeheal.com message boards) was that women that initially had saline implants and went silicone absolutely loved the silicone over the saline, but again it boils down to personal choice.

for me, I had 500cc silicone's placed under the muscle and so far they are fabulous.  I am one month post op and love them.  They feel very natural to touch which was important for me.

I suggest that you continue to do your research, go on implant sites and look at the message boards and personal blogs as well.

Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

good luck

Hey Kim! Thanks for replying!! You know I had just about decided on silicone and then started doing a little more reading and from what I've read with silicone you have to have an MRI ever year to insure they aren't leaking....but then when the nurse at the surgeons office was showing me the different implants she said that the silicone was like a solid jello type consistency. That if you cut it in have nothing would leak out...you'd just have two halves so now I'm confused. I'll have to call her back for clarification on that point.

I'm planning pretty small implants....250 to 275 cc's...

its true  regarding the gel implants..now days, they dont leak the gel like they did years ago.  there is still debate out there regarding how often to get the MRI...ive read that some suggest yearly, and others every 3-5 years....ive actually forgotten what the manufacture recommends on my implants, so I need to check into that.

good luck in what you decide!  you will make the right choice for you...
