Breasts and tummy are doing great. The tape came off my tummy incision, yesterday. Put some Aquaphor where the tape had irritated my skin a bit and contributed to the itchiness. Kelocote arrives tomorrow, so I can start scar therapy.

My inner thigh has been plagued with problems. I continue to give thanks that I haven't developed an infection, but the area that was sutured seems to be re-opening (How can that even happen?) and I have one small & two almond-sized, but every growing openings on my other inner thigh and right under my right cheek of my behind. I've been treating it with the same bleach/water on gauze that they told me to do before. The nurse knows this and I'm going for a follow up on Wednesday, prepared for more sutures. That was a really unpleasant experience.

I feel like a bum just sitting/lying around in the recliner, but that's what I'm doing to help with healing. Everyone assumes, because of my personality, that I'm doing to much, but I'm only getting up to go to the bathroom (which generally is unpleasant, because of the wounds) and to shower. I went to lunch on Saturday and didn't leave the house on Sunday. Only left the house on Friday to go to the doctor.

Can anyone share your experiences? How long did it take to heal?

Thank you!

Hi
Congrats on your surgery.

Don't feel like a "bum just sitting/lying around"....you NEED to get plenty of rest.  You just put your body through some major trauma and stress...it needs time to recover.

Get lots and lots of protein too...it really helps with healing.

For me my TT was a breeze....I felt fantastic and by week 2 or 3 was asking the surgeon when we could do the next one...of course he made me wait at least 3 months but I felt ready to go.
I posted details about my recovery on my blog (on my OH profile)...feel free to check it out.

Best wishes!

I was back at work 10 days after my MTL and did have some separation on the incision on my thighs. My Dr. didn't resutured, he just said to keep it covered w/ gauze and neosporin. They eventually started to get smaller but it took about 2 months to completely close up.

I'm really sorry you are having problems with the separation.  I had a tummy tuck about 18 years ago and had major separation.  The opening you could see was about the size of an orange and then there was tunneling.  About a year later I had a revision and now you can't even see the scar.

At that time my doc wouldn't close the separation.  He said it had to heal from the inside out.  Maybe that is why your other one is opening back up?? I don't know..I hope you don't have to go through the re-stitch again.

Hang in the and please keep us posted as to what happens.

hi
my inner thighs also split, they are sutured from the inside but the split on the outside I had some steri strips and I just closed them up with that and they healed fine, they split at the bend of the knee.

good luck to you
