Wiping your bum after Full Tummy Tuck???
I hate to even ask this - but I know that after WLS there was a few days where I was quite terrified that if I had a bowel movement I wouldn't be able to wipe. Things might be different after plastics since Im so much smaller but Im wondering...
How do you wipe your bum after surgey? Was it difficult? Im embarassed to ask but really curious!

Not an issue.
It might be because I have enough tolerance that I did not require post-op pain meds, I did not have problems with a post-op bowel movement, once I started eating again.

I had no problem Thank God after any of my surgeries the TT, thighs or the arms. I was quite nervous about that. There are some things I wouldn't even let my husband or anyone do for me I would just bite my lip & deal with pain. but it was fine no issues at all
good luck to you , you will be fine, just make sure if you aretaking pain meds you take stool softeners cause Narcotics can & will constipate you

Aloha EB-
If a full tummy tuck is a circumferential body lift and muscle tightening, I can help answer that for you!
I had some issues with constipation about 6 months post VSG- then made a concerted effort to up my water intake and eat a serving of prunes everyday and have not had trouble since.
For plastics, my surgeon rec'd starting DSS ( Colace) tabs a week prior to surgery - I had a normal BM 2 days post op and no issues since ( but I take a pill a day). I'm now 12 days out from my circumferential body lift and breast lift/aug and do not have any problems. I had far more trouble with wiping before VSG when I was 190 lbs heavier. It was not difficult to turn and wipe after this surgery- size DOES matter here, HA!
I did come home with 7 drains and could not shower for a while. I bought baby wipes, put them in each bathroom, and when I was finished with toilet paper I'd use one of those. I'd recommend that for someone about to undergo this procedure if you are worried about getting clean.
Best advice I can give is- Be ready! Hundreds of weekly squats/lunges and lots of core work in the months leading up to plastics has made my recovery far easier than I expected- my doctor said I wouldn't be walking upright for 5-7 says, I was straight up 36 hours post op and have not looked back. I ensured higher than normal protein intake the 2 weeks prior to surgery and even though I don't feel like eating ( no hunger since VSG), I consume at least 120+ grams of protein each day for the best healing I can get, even if I have to use shakes. So far no problems at all. I will be posting pictures later today if they pull my last drain. I also was glad I brought chapstick and cough drops to the hospital, and that I chose implant size while wearing several different outfits- a sundress, a bathing suit, a tank top, and a sweater - very happy with everything! I also took measurements the night before surgery- something I forgot to do pre VSG.
Be well, the first 2 days are the hardest, and good luck!!!! XOXOLori

I understand exactly what you mean . I had a full tummy tuck last monday on August 10th. I been able to do alot of things for myself but wiping my own bum after a bowel movement hasn't been one of them. I just don't have the reach I had before , I know that in time I will be able to wipe on my own but right now I depend on my children (daughter). Don't get me wrong I do sit on the toilet and try but I just can't reach enough.

I too was concerned about this but turned out to be nothing to worry about....well the wiping part was no problem once things got moving again. YIKES I think it took till day 5 before anything happened and I was taking laxatives and softeners. Anesthesia really takes a toll on the body...
Anyhow....I don't think you need to worry, you'll be fine.
