3-Month Post Tummy Tuck Pics!!

Well, went to my 3-month checkup and surgeon was very pleased at how well I've healed and have had no problems since the first week.  I had one place just below my hip bone that hurt and burned like h*ll when I'd go to stand up.  When I went in to my 1-week checkup, I told the surgeon about it and that it was the only pain I was having.  He looked at it (you could see it very easily because when I stood up, the tendon pulled so hard that it pulled the skin straight up into a line over the spot, so it was easy to find.  So he gave me a numbing shot, got the scalpel and cut into where the stitch was.  All the pain went away and I realized my incision didn't hurt at all - it had been just the one stitch all along.  And I've been doing terrific since then.

Still a little swelling once in a while, but heck it's only three months, and it's only like 1-2 days a week that I have swelling.  When I'm not swollen, my scar looks nice and straight - when I'm swollen it looks a little crooked.  The numbness is still there along the incision line and the when the front spot is swollen.  Some days there's no numbness anywhere else, some days it is numb all the way up to under my breasts.  Doc says it's all part of the healing and since I have more days with no swelling or numbness (except insicion line) than days with them, I'm feeling pretty dang awesome!!

Good luck on Feb 26th!!!  It was much easier than I thought it was going to be.  My activity was a little restricted, but I'm back to normal working out now - sometimes that makes the swelling a little more, but it's worth the trade-off to be moving around like normal again!!

Thank you J!!  I had my pics closed as private, but then decided to open them up and hope no one does anything with them that I don't want them to.  I'd much rather feel good about sharing them and hopefully give some insight on the surgery, scarring, etc., to others who might want to see.  I know I looked at a lot of other people's post-op pics before I made up my mind to do it.  You're so right - after all that peeking and lurking, I really do feel like it is paying it forward to share my story, too!

Your scars look great, you are really healing nicely. You look tiny and flat! I see your muscles too.

Thanks so much for posting those pictures.  Every picture I've seen, everyone looks perfectly flat.  I'm happy to see that you and I have a little bulge in exactly the same place.  I didn't know if it was normal, if it will eventually flatten or if the surgeon had done something wrong (thinking that women were suppose to have those little bulges).  but now that I've seen yours I feel much better about myself - we're about the same out - I had my surgery on November 2nd.  I haven't got around to taking any after pictures yet - Lord, I haven't even got my Christmas pictures out of my camera
yet:-)
Thanks again
L.

You're welcome!  Yeah, I asked my surgeon last week if that bulge is normal or swelling still.  He said a little of both.  He said there's a facia or shelf-like ridge below the skin where the muscle sits and sometimes depending on how you're built, not everyone is built to have a perfectly flat or concave tummy.  He said there is still some swelling, though, and I probably wouldn't know for sure until the swelling's pretty well over with.  Some people on here have said that's taken them up to a year to have no swelling. Like I wasn't swollen in the pics, but today I'm really swollen & my tummy feels so tight like it's going to pop open!  So, we'll have to wait and see - not that I mind my little bulge at all - all my jeans are still too way big in the waist now, so I'm good!  Now if only the butt (my own - no implants - just a round-butt kind of girl!) didn't fill up the jeans so I could go down a size!
