When can I get in a pool/jacuzzi?
before you get in a public pool you just have to make sure all your incisions are completely healed & closed up no scabs. I would still be careful of the hot tub. you could go w/o your garment for a little while some people don't even wear them 5 weeeks I did & I still do especially when I am excercising
Have fun

I agree with Kim, you should ask your surgeon! Different doctors have different philosophies concerning both the compression garments and when you can take a bath or swim.
Are your incisions completely healed?
Today, I'm 9 weeks out from abdominoplasty and 5 weeks and 2 days out from breast reduction and lift. I took my first post-op bath, versus shower, earlier this week.
I wore my compression garments almost around the clock for more than 8 weeks.

Can you tell me how your abdominoplasty went with your lapband port? Did the surgeon have to move it? I am scheduled for mine on 2/26 and I am being told that it does not always have to be moved but sometimes when the abd muscles are plicated the port has to be moved laterally. Thanks for any information and congrats on your plastics!

Yes, my port had to be moved. But I also had my belly button migrated.
I got stressed out following my tummy tuck due to a pending international move and, shortly after getting my breast reduction, went in for an unfill. Neither the bariatric surgeon nor I could find the port. The weird part was that I carry very little fat, particularly in my abdomen, and it should not have been that difficult to locate.
I ended up going to a fairly local hospital and having the unfill done under flouroscopy, which was something I wanted to experience at least once anyway. I also ended up fulfilling my insurance deductible for 2010 within the first two weeks of the year.
Anyway, the flouroscopy showed that the relationship (distance-wise) between my migrated belly button and my migrated port was pretty much the same as it had been prior to surgery.
Best wishes with your plastics. I recommend that, if your port needs to be migrated, have the doctor MARK the spot to which it is moved. They are going to draw on you anyway just prior to the surgery and it's no biggie for them to use the same marker afterwards.
Incidentally, there are two schools of thought regarding the band and plastic surgery. Those who believe in unfill and those who don't believe an unfill is necessary. I obviously was not unfilled for surgery and, had I not gotten so stressed out over the move, I wouldn't have needed the unfill. However, if you are experiencing any sort of GERD or other reflux issues, you might want to think about at least a small unfill or at least talk to both your bariatric surgeon and your plastic surgeon about it. In addition, the anesthesiologist can add anti-nausea drugs to the ****tail.

Ask your surgeon.
It's risky........you don't want to get any infections. Ladies have posted here about horrible infections that caused major problems lasting weeks/months just because they went in the pool one day.
If I were you I'd take the garment and wear it as much as you can. Take it off for short periods but then maybe sleep in it to get the swelling down.
FYI - Be VERY careful to avoid sunlight on your scars. You can permanently discolor them and I'm sure you don't want that. And yes it can even happen to scars covered by a bathing suit top/bottom so be real careful!
Best wishes and ENJOY your vacation!

That's a really good point to consider, especially if your incisions are not wholly healed.
