Face-lift questions

Hi all....
Well I never thought I'd be seriously thinking about doing a face-lift but here I am.

I've discussed options with my surgeon but would love some input from you guys who have "been there, done that".
My surgeon is recommending a Mid face lift, lower bleph and has just added the brow lift.

I don't want to look "fake" or like I'm permanently startled

If you had a face-lift are you happy you did it?
Any regrets?
Any recommendations on what I need to do to prepare for pre/post op??

Thanks a bunch!!!

I had a mini face lift and upper and lower blephs and I'm thrilled, more thrilled about than any of my other surgeries.  I look 10-15 years younger.  It's still early out and everyday I like my face better.  The mini face lift was done awake and it's a lower and a little bit of mid face lift but it's not a deep plane lift.  However it was NOT a thread lift, they called all kinds of different methods mini-lifts you need a surgeon who knows what they are doing and are not just lifting skin.  I was told it will last 5-10 years and I paid 5k for it in the US.   Dr. Sauceda did my bleth and it was under 2k I believe.

Sometimes I think about a tiny bow lift to just to lift the tail of my brow and eyelids but also don't want that surprised look so put that on hold for a few more years (I'm 46).

I haven't seen a close up of your face so can't comment on your need but I just had some deep laugh lines and a little bit of jowls nothing major and the mini lift is for someone like me.

Moosie I haven't taken any after pics yet but will this weekend and will post for you.  I had minor sagging around the jowls which is what the mini face lift addresses.   I think if I were your age I would probably go for a full face lift they last longer and are the Gold Standard.  I suspect I will be getting another lift in my late 50's and it will be the full with the neck and brow and maybe a little more eyes if needed.

Hi, Moosie!

I had a face lift last year and I love it.  I had a brow lift, upper and lower bleph, neck lift, and face lift, but I can't remember what kind - not a lot of cutting, though, mainly behind the ears and a few incisions in the scalp.

When I went in he suggested a brow lift, which I hadn't even thought about.  You really cannot even tell.  I look 15 years younger but I don't look pulled, if you know what I mean.  My eyes look great and I don't look so tired any more.  The browlift is definitely worth it.  I say go for it!

My doctor does it on an outpatient basis but you could spend the night in the hospital if you paid for it.  I would highly recomend it as I didn't remember anything until the next morning!

Hi Ruth
I am having a mini facelift on Feb 8th,
I need to get Carpal Tunnell done & my PS can do it so since I have a covered procedure it will be less to get the facelift done at the same time. I would like to get the browlift but I am afraid it would change my looks.
whatever you do don't get that silhouette(thread lift) I have seen some results on people and you can see the pullin thread under their skin, sometimes it turns out good & sometimes it doesn't
Good Luck to you

Please don't be afraid of the brow lift!  It really is subtle (if you have the correct PS) but is so worth it.  I was amazed at how it helped to open my eyes more than the upper bleph alone.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

I will be having a revision to my lower eyelids next week.  He wants to revise the brow lift too but I am not sure if he will do that at the same time.  Probably not.  Even with having to have the correction done it is so worth it!  My lower lids look really good it is just that scar tissue formed under the skin and is pulling the lids down.
