Info regarding total body lift
I weigh 150 and have tons of skin that I want removed. My physician says I should make a weight goal after WLS of 135. If I end up at 135 and lose all that skin I feel I will be to thin. Does anyone have any advice?

I weigh 150, I am 5'5"...my lbl and bl are this Friday. I definately don't want to be any skinnier before my plastics. I am hoping after the skin removal, I don't have that much...I think I will be in a comfy 6/8. I am in a 10 now and they are getting big...so the skin off my back and stomach will make a huge difference. I always thought I would want to be 140, but I am waiting until after I am healed to make that decision of losing a few more lbs. I was always worried about the same thing as you, being too think, getting plastics and then looking sick because I was too skinny. I would do it now...that is my advice. I know I didn't help much, but just telling you how I feel about me. Good luck with your decision. Jenny

Sadly, the "tons" of extra skin usually ends up as just a few to several pounds. Skin does not weigh all that much, it's the amount of fat underneath that makes up most of the bulk.
On my specimens, the typical range of skin (and fat) during a body lift is about 5 - 25 pounds with the average in the 7-10 pound range. I like my patients to have their BMI under 30 prior to a body lift.
Also, ask your PS about donating your skin!
Good Luck,
