Hello,  I am only 8 months out from my surgery and I believe that I eventually will want to have PS.  Is there a certain amount of time you want to wait to check into it?  Is there a certain amount of your excess wt you should have lost before they will look at you?  Thanks in advance for your help, Lori

Unless there are extenuating cir****tances, plastic surgeons want you to be at a stable weight for 6-12 months (it varies by surgeon).  You will want to wait until you have stopped losing because if you have PS done before that and you lose more weight, you may end up with sagging skin again or other less than optimal results from the PS.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I say wait at least 1 year after reaching your goal weight to have PS.  In that time, focus on strength training, improving your overall fitness, and excellent nutrition.  All those things will help prepare you for the procedures and make your recovery as easy as possible.

Also, use that time to research doctors, read these boards, and find out all the positive and negative aspects that go along with PS.  It never hurts to use that year to save some cash for it too. :)
