I know most doctors want a person to be at goal weight for several months before contemplating plastic surgery.

I have a huge issue with my arms.  I carried a lot of extra weight in them and prior to surgery had problems finding shirts that would fit because of my upper arm size.  Now that I am losing weight and needing smaller sizes I am having even more trouble finding tops to accommodate my arms because of the skin.

I have about 40 more pounds to go before I reach goal and was wondering if it might be worth looking at getting my arms done sooner since they are so bad.

Just wondering what other people had experienced.  Thanks for any feedback.

I just had my arms and tummy done in december.  I'm not at goal yet, but for mobility reasons, I decided to have it done early.  He took 4 lbs off my arms and over 15 & 16 inches off the left and right.

I love my new arms!  Absolutely love them and I am wearing Large and XL shirts. whereas before surgery I was wearing 5XL and 6XL due to my very large and hanging arms!!!

I know I"ll have to have a revision after I get to goal and I do not mind it at all!  I'm a swimmer and a cyclist and now I can reach my workout goals much faster!

My doctors wanted me to be at a STABLE weight before surgery, but told me to start contemplating it months and months ahead of time.

So this is already a great time to begin planning!!!

I had brachioplasty done Thursday!  I am nowhere near my goal weight. It's a long story and I won't bore you with the details (mostly because my arms hurt and I'm having trouble typing!)

I figured that I need to rely most on swimming for weight loss at this point due to damage to my left ankle. I wanted to wait until I got closer to my goal weight, but if I'm not losing anything, why wait? I was just too self conscious to swim in public, so I'm praying that the brachioplasty will make my arms look normal.

My surgeon didn't think it would make a whole lof of difference even  if I lost another 20+ pounds. He seemed to think I wouldn't have bad results. I have muscle tone in my biceps, but large pockets of fat and hanging skin in the tricep area... and it doesn't respond to exercise.

Look into it and start 'interviewing' doctors so you can feel confident in your choice when the time comes to finally do it. That would be my advice. Good luck. Let me know if I can help in any way.

I would strongly urge you to get closer to your goal.   All surgeons I meet with would not even touch my arms (which were huge****il I was at or within 10 lbs of goal.

I which I had waited to do my breasts.......I did them with 40 lbs to go and ended up having to have a second breast lift surgery done (which is never as good as the first).

Sooo from personal experience even though it stinks to have to wait I would really encourage you to wait,  In the long run you will be glad you did.

PM me if you want to discuss how my arms sound like they were just like yours....
