X-Post Help Thinking about Plastics

So I'm 7 months out of surgery and have lost 90lbs which puts me at a BMI of 28-29.  Dr. says 10lbs or so & I will be in the "Normal BMI" range. Now I know you have to have lost what you wont to lose and be stable for like 4-6 months before one should have plastics; but Dr. Garth's PA said that in no way would it hurt to start seeing Plastic Dr. see what all I could expect. Like let them check my insurance and check on cost etc.... & of course see what the Dr.'s think I should or should not have done.

I was referred to Dr. Camille Cash by Dr. Garth's office. I do have a appointment with her; but I was wonder if anyone from her has used her and what I can expect.

Also for those of you that have had plastics please give me your input as for things I should ask, things I should expect and of course any Dr.'s you think are great. I most likely will be willing to have 2nd, & 3rd opinions and I need all the direction I can get. I would like to stay with Dr.'s that use hospital's vs in house and I would like to stick to Dr.'s in the Houston medical center. I live in Cleveland so pretty much anywhere I go is gonna be a journey; but I know my way around the Med Center pretty well.

Things I would like to have done are my arms, my tummy & to fill my deflated boobs back up & maybe my legs. I know there are proper names for all of those; but I don't know them all.
I know I know research is the key thing here. That is why I'm asking for opinions from the best bunch of people I know.

I also saw where someone on here said they had there plastics done by the Baylor Residency Program and was very happy. If anyone out there has info on that please send it my way. I would like to check that out also.

Thanks so much

Hi Cindy,

The only thing I would add is that there is no "certain" time frame after you lose your weight that is the right one for everyone.  Some people are comfortable with plastics 6 months after they are on maintenance and others wait a few years even.  The important part is to make sure you are emotionally and physically recovered from your weight loss surgery so you are mentally prepared and healthy enough to do well after surgery.  Only you will know when that is :)  Good luck on your plastics journey, the research is really interesting and this forum brings a lot of smiles and success stories and, yes, a few tears.  Robin
