bruising/swelling after lipo?
I am planning to use my income tax refund to have some lipo done on two areas -- both on one side of my body -- where I have two weird pockets of fat that are persistently clinging to me and making me lopsided (one is at my waist... so I have a small muffin top kind of effect just on one side... and the other is right below the underwear line at the top of one thigh... which makes my pants bulge out just on the one side).
Anyway, I am trying to figure out when to schedule it for based on a couple of events (vacation, a work training class, etc) and am wondering about how long the bruising/swelling/discomfort will last.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
It doesn't sound like the two areas you describe will require really agressive lipo. Lipo hurts no matter how agressive but I don't think your bruising would be as bad as like what's done with a thigh or arm lift.
I had bruising for up to10 weeks with my thighs and arms. My arms are still a little tender but they were such a long area to lipo. I didn't experience swelling in my arms and it was minimum in my thighs. I have seen a few people post about bothersome swelling that's been done on the abdomen, back and flanks. Hopefully some of those people will chime in.
Good luck with your procedures!
