Complain to OH (Privacy issues)
I am very concerned about the new option to share posts and information with the links to Facebook, MySpace and all the other links posted to each of the messages. This site has been so helpful to me and many others. I am at the point in my process that I am here to help others and will not continue sharing my 'story' with the further lack of privacy that is being promoted by these links. Please consider this problem and know that it will make this forum so much less effective to the intent of peer to peer help. Please remove the linking!

Until now OH was a site looked for and used by people struggling with obesity. Now with links so conveniently placed to encourage cross posting to other sites it will will drive more people here outside our our community out of curiosity and some may find our posts and pictures amusing in a mean-spirited way. I felt more safe in that the for the most part the people who came here, came here with like issues/concerns/struggles. These links now encourage the sharing of our community with other more board social networking communities. I just don't see how these links serve the OH community in any way.

I've made my profile for "friends only" - its too bad we now have to hide what we do here because whoever decided that we no longer deserved our privacy, has made our journeys public now to the google world.
There are many of us on this site that choose to keep our WLS journey to share with others that have been where we are, and not announce it to the world.
recently I've had friend requests from people I have no idea who they are - I'm wondering if it is because of this??? Someone even commented on one of my pics that I have NO clue who it is.
