face/neck lift

I had a neck lift almost 4 weeks ago. I had very little pain post-op. For the first couple of days it felt like I had a toothache in my upper jaw on one side. The Dr. said that this was from the muscle tightening. (A necklift does include tightening of the muscle that extends from below the chin to above the ears.) However, this pain went away with the pain medication. I also had a sore throat from the anesthesia tube. After the tight bandage was taken off 3 days later and I could take a shower, I felt great. The worst part was really that the pain meds made me feel nauseous and dizzy, but after 2 days I took tylenol and was fine. The results were so worth it!

I had neck and lower face lift done 6 months ago.  It was an almost painless experience!  I didn't have my eyes done though.  I took a pain pill just in case around 6 p.m., and my DH made me take one before bed so that I would sleep OK.  I didn't take anything after that, just Tylenol for tightness.  I was swollen for several weeks.  I felt sooo self conscious, but everyone assured me that I looked fine.  The most discomfort was several weeks after the surgery as nerves regenerated around the ear!  It was like being zapped in the ear!  But barely any bruising:)

What I have found after the first few months and all of the swelling resolved itself, is that I still have some laxity in the skin under my chin.  I was told that it's common for WLS patients, since our skin elasticity is not so good, and that I can consider revision after 1 yr.
