Hi
I am having Carpal tunnell surgery & my PS can do it so since taht is covered by insurance . I just have to have something else done with that so I am going to get a neck/mini face lift done @ the same time.I don't need to get my eyes done they were done last time

for those of you that have had it done how is the pain in the face. and if you don't get the eyes done do you get black &blue .I have a pretty good pain tolerance but each time I get surgery I get nervous just thinking about the pain. all my other surgeries the oain was no problem except for the inner thighs that was the worst I hated the first 3 days
Thanks Susan

I'll be watching this post, I'm curious too. I'm considering a neck and face lift also.

I had a lower face lift with Dr. S 1/11  whi*****luded the eyes. Bruising from the eye lift has resolved.  From the face lift part, I have some green colored bruising down the sides of my face and the swelling is just starting to go down.  I ended up with a bruise on one cheek and it dissolved and ran down my face under the skin so have a purple/red area from the corner of my lip to my chin.  It also is resolving.  I am very numb on the sides of my face to my ears, excluding my ears, but I really have no pain.  I understand this can last for a while.  Hope this helps.  Lin

Susan,

I had the lower face lift without the eyes done at the end of May. Pain from the actual surgery was minimal,,not bad at all. The most pain I had was from the tube in my throat from the anesthesia!!  Horrible sore throat.

I had no bruising by my eyes. The most bruising was in the chin area and neck, down to my collar bones. My ears were VERY sore when I tried to lay down on a pillow and difficult to get comfortable for a couple of weeks. The strap they have you wear around your head to support your neck/chin area gets to be irritating but it's necessary for supporting, keeping that area firm.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions! Good luck to you!

Susan:

I had a lower face/neck lift done in November.  I think the hardest part of the post op period was not moving my head/neck too much or bending over that will increase pressure on the face.  The pain wasnt all that bad, only took the pain medication for 48 hours then switched to tylenol.

Im still sore in some areas of the jawline, and still trying to get use to the numbness and tightness that is there.  Very very happy with the overall results.  You can look at my before and after pics posted if you would like.  The bruising wasnt too bad either, mostly on my upper cheeks.

You will have the most swelling the first week.  I still occasionally will have some puffiness from time to time but only I can notice it.  Good luck with the surgery!

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Feel free to contact me any time.

Hi Susan,

I had neck/lower face lift in 11/2008 and I must say that of ALL my surgeries, this was without a doubt the MOST painful. My ears swelled so badly that I wanted to follow Vincent Van Gough's example and cut them off. I didn't have anything done to my eyes or forehead so I didn't have bruising.

Everyone is different. 4 months after my upper body lift (including neck/face) I had the lower body lift which I thought would be worse...piece of cake!

Good luck to you. You'll love the results!

OK, question here, did all of you have the one that they tighten the muscle or just the skin?  I don't know the difference in name, just know that if they do the skin one, I believe they do behind the ears and if the do the muscle one it is in front, is that true?  Do I understand this correctly?
