One Week out Today from LBL and BL

I can't believe I'm already a week out!  The pain has been totally manageable.  The worst part was that the way I had to sleep in the recliner gave me a migraine/tension headache EVERY NIGHT...so I was taking my pain meds for my HEAD!  Last night I got the OK to sleep on my side.  Well that was quite painful..but after arranging some pillows arfully I was able to pull off a modified side sleep and low and behold no headache this morning!!!  YEAH!!!  Also, I didn't think about it, but I planned my surgery for in between my periods....but apparently anesethia can bring it on early...so I had do deal with that this past week too!  That wasn't fun.  LOL!  I still have my 2 drains, one barely puts out 10 cc a day...the other one is cranking out 40-60 ccs a day.  I still have next week off from work and will take it and relax, but I think I could totally go in.  I have a desk job, so I think I could do it.  This surgery is so amazing and Dr. L is an artist...it's amazing how tiny I am now and how small and precise the incision lines are.  This is the best money I've spent since my VSG surgery!!

I totally agree...the $$ spent on plastics was some of the best I've ever spent!

It is such an amazing gift to myself to be able to look the way I have felt for so long.

Yes exactly!!  And to now look like my HOURS and HOURS of gym time should have made me look but couldn't because of that loose skin!  I lost 160 lbs...but it was the 15 lbs Dr. Lomonaco cut off taht I noticed the most change!!

I am having my lbl and bl on 1/29! Any suggestions for me since you just had this experience? How is your incision on your lower back? I am so worried that will pull open...Uhhh! Also, how is the garment, a pain in the butt??

Good luck to you!!  I'll be thinking of you on the 29th!!  Suggestions....hmmm...definately loose pants, I live in pajama pants and my yoga pants and very light tshirts.  I love my toilet riser, makes going to the restroom so simple.  And I rented a lift recliner and it's been such a help too!  It helps me get up and down on my own with minimal effort!  The garment isn't really that much of a pain...i can't stand being without it.  I just feel more supported and "safe" in it...LOL!  I hate when i have to take it off to change them or take a shower.  Now the lower back incicsions you feel them constantly, because you have to sit or lay on them.  It's not as bad as I thought it would be, as long as you are in a reclined position, they really don't bother me much at all!  I too am afraid they'll pull apart....but fingers crossed...it hasn't happened yet!!  Keep us posted on how your surgery goes, and don't hesitate to ask me any questions if you think of any between now and then!

Hi Robin!  I will definately post some pics of Dr. L's work...I am building up my courage....LOL!  Even last night my hubby was helping me change my garment and said, "I just can't believe how small and perfect the incision lines are...doesn't look like you were rebuilt at all!"  Leave it up to a man to call a lower body lift "being rebuilt"..LOL!

Tell my GF that her LBL scar makes her look like the magician forgot how to put her back together after he sawed her in half and they had to break out the needle and thread!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Yes, I've thought of that magician's helper story...I also figure from this point forward my default Halloween costume will be "bride of frankenstien"...just throw on a bikini, some bolts on my neck...and let my scars show!
