Dr S told me I could go back to the hotel yesterday if I wanted.  I jumped at the chance!  Mostly due to the fact the internet was still down at the clinic.  Now, I lazily spending my morning updating my blog, facebook and reading/posting on these forums.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.  They helped bunches!

Yes, congratulations...I don't know how Dr. S does it, but all his patients seem so alert and eager to do things so soon after surgery...I was unable to anything for several days....glad the surgery went well...here's to a quick recoverery:)))

LN,

I really think it has to do with being under twilight sedation and not general.  We don't have to recover from anesthesia like others do.  I think it definitely speeds up recovery!

I agree, Jess, another reason is that he gives you ibuprofen very soon after the iv comes out....no narcotics unless you ask for them;  if your pain isn't managed well.  I really think that helped me to be so clear headed, and free of side effects....I remember the constipation after my RNY....I was NOT happy, lol.

Wow what a journey - thanks for sharing so much of your experience and I hope things continue to go smoothly for you!
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Thanks guys.  So far I'm loving the results.  I even snapped a few pics after my shower this morning before nurse Patty gauzed me up and helped me into the garment.  I'll post some before and afters when I get back to the States.

Great to hear you are doing so well!  I spent a lot of time reading and on the net.  Nothing else to do but lay around!
