Is it worth it???

I'll just add a few more answers to what already been said.

1)  Recovery is very individual.  For me, the pain has not been tough at all.  I'm in no pain when I'm sitting (day 2) or lying down (day 1).  Getting up and down plus walking do cause some discomfort but it doesn't linger.  Use the next month to spend extra time in the gym concentrating on strengthening your legs.  I really started focusing on my legs two months out and I think that made a huge difference.

2)  Arnica Montana is a homeopathic treatment for swelling.  Does it work?  I'll tell it after I finish the treatment.  I figured for the minimal risk and less than 20 dollar price tag, it couldn't hurt.

3)  Your doctor is best to advise on the anchor cut.  If you have a lot of skin in the upper middle of your stomach that procedure will produce the best result.

The recovery has definately been worth it. I wouldn't call it horrible. The worst I had was on my thighs but everything else has been relatively pain free. This last one was the longest I had to be on my pain meds which was just over a week. Other than that I was off them within 4 or 5 days.

My recoveries have been uneventful. Never had any issues w/ holes opening up, seromas or hematoma's. Worst I has was having a drain in for 6 weeks after my LBL but to have a flat stomach was worth that. I think you will probably have a somewhat more defined waistline since the muscle tightening pulls that in a little bit. To say you'll have an hourglass shape I think really depends on your body type. Some people have more of that shape naturally than others do.

 Here's my 2 cents....
1) is it worth the horrible recovery?  I am so scared, and I have 3 very young children at home.  I am scared of the postop complications and the fact that I will be down so long.  My recovery from the TT and Breast Lift was very easy.  I'd do it again....LOL
2)What is Arnica Montana?  It helps prevent and reduce swelling.  I've used it after each of my procedures....I believe it works.  I would also suggest you get Bromelian as well....this helps reduce/eliminate bruising and I have to tell you with each surgery I took it I've had little to no bruising.  The one time I did not take it I bruised so I believe in it!
3)How do you know if you need the anchor cut?  After WLS, I did not need plastics.  Two c-sections later, my lower abdomen has a horrible crease and I definitely need improvement.  My problems are completely below my belly button.  If you have a lot of laxity/loose skin above the belly button and or on the sides then an anchor cut is best.  Look at my before pictures and you'll see why I did the anchor cut and I am SO GLAD I did!
4) will I still have a defined waistline or will I have a more "boyish" look?  With the anchor cut you get a wonderful hour-glass shape.
5)has anyone had these surgeries with an uncomplicated (other than pain) recovery?  I see so many seromas, infections, issues on here that I am petrified.  Again, I am scared...is it worth it in the end both financially and esthetically?  I had absolutely NO complications with my TT, Brachioplasty, and both of breast surgeries (I've had 2 surgeries on the breasts),    I've only had one problem with my butt lift and while it's annoying it's not a major issue....the incision for my LBL is beautiful!

Hope that helps........let me know if you have more questions.

I had a TT and my arms done at the same time. Even though I haven't had kids yet, I had lost 170 pounds and had most of my loose skin in my stomach and even above my belly button. I was surprised the my PS recommended I not get the the anchor cut--and I am so happy I trused her judgement. If you friend request me, you can see my before/after pics.

Regarding the recovery, I know it is personal for everyone but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I took off 3 weeks and could have went back to work in 2. Don't get me wrong I am 6 weeks post-op and I take tylenol a couple times a week. But I am already back to full cardio (I did 2 back to back Zumba classes on Tuesday--and my tummy is flat and my arms aren't flying. It still amazes me that this is my body. It is pricey, but even my husband keeps saying it was worth every penny.

Good luck and keep us posted!
