Hey Norma,

Get extra protein in, it helps you heal. I also got a fell set of blood work done so I was aware of anything deficiencies so I could be extra vigilant on supplements. All the best with your surgery.

Protein, protein, protein. This is essential to the DSer...not only for daily life but ESPECIALLY before surgery! I would suggest protein shakes and my personal fave, beef jerky. I can not stress enough the importance of protein for us. Please pump it up as a PS preop!

I'll second the extra protein.  Also, start taking 1000 mg of Vitamin C and drop any Vitamin E supplements (blood thinner).  A week before your surgery start taking a stool softener.  The pain meds + sedation will bind you up.
