Looking into having my arms done?
In Calif., Brachio runs about $7K - $7,500 for the Dr.'s portion.
MY questions would be: how many has he done in the last 2 years, can you see pics both bef. and after, has he done a lot of work on WLS patients (we have unique skin situations) and one of MY also most important, does he put the incision along the bottom of the arm instead of halfway to 2/3rds down like most Dr.'s do right now? More Dr.'s are doing the incision at the bottom , as I just had done, and I think it looks ten times better. Hardly visible at all, unless you raise your arms high over your head, whereas with the other normal position the scar is seen almost with any arm movement: reaching out, eating, drinking, lifting something, etc.

Hi Gail,
I know we've discussed this in the past but thought I'd throw it out here too......
My original Brachio cost about $5,200 (that included one night stay at the hospital and all pain meds in recovery).
Let me know how your consults are going.

Thanks, Bev!! Good for you!! I'm so thankful I had my arms done. I feel "human" again, even with the scars.

Thanks!! I never really had any pain, thank goodness (but was on pain meds the first 3-4 days). I had discomfort and was very stiff the first few days because my surgeon had my arms wrapped like a mummy to my fingertips to limit swelling (and boy were my lower arms swollen). At my first post-op, 3 days after surgery, I was able to unwrap my lower arms and things were much better. I am still wearing compression sleeves almost 5 weeks post-op. He wants me to wear them until week 6. I may wear them a bit longer, at least part of the time. I don't mind them.
I could have gone back to work after a week with no problems, but thankfully I'm a teacher and had 2.5 weeks off for Christmas break.
