I am so sorry this has happened to you.

BUT . . .

I can tell you that five years ago I had surgery on one of my breasts because of breast duct papillomas (which are benign tumors in the breast ducts).  

Post-op, things looked great for several months, but then lo and behold ... the breast appeared to have a "dent," which my doctor said was an accumulation of adhesions.  I decided, at the time, that I was so grateful not to have breast cancer and that cosmetically it was a non-issue for me.

However, over the next several years the adhesions seem to have dissolved, and that breast has resumed its normal shape.

I hope this helps.  I'm not sure it's the same thing, but I did want to reassure you that sometimes something awful resolves into nothing.
